Expect some diversity in the musical selections featured in this week’s Episode of Rookie Blue! From rap to jazz, from indie-rock to East Coast folk, we’ve got your tastes covered.
Speaking of East Coast folk, we’re proud to feature Andrew James O’Brien and the Searchers as our Artist of the Week! Like all good folk music, Andrew’s work is chock full of depth, both emotional and musical, with particular attention being paid to memorable and singable melodies.
Andrew recently released his debut album “Songs for Searchers” to critical acclaim in April of this year, and just last week hopped on a plane for London, England to play his first set of international gigs. There’s no doubting that the future is bright for this up-and-coming Canadian talent, who has been recognized time and time again in his native province as a Music Newfoundland and Labrador Award winner, being named Male Artist of the Year and Rising Star of the Year (2011), with “Song for Searchers” being named the Pop/Rock Recording of the Year. Andrew is certainly a young Canadian artist to keep an eye on, we can’t wait to see what he does next. Enjoy!
